Playing with scraps of papers and pretty ephemera.  I have had these pretty images for a long while and I was happy to put them to use.

Mother's Day projects

Image
The cards were very easy to make and the inspiration came from Pinterest.  The lace stamp is from a clear set (2011) by Pink Paislee, "Butterfly garden.  Hero Arts inks  Pale Tomato, Soft blossom and Tide Pool, favorites of mine.  The sentiment and butterfly are also from Hero Arts. These boxes were made using a Sizzix large die by Eileen Hull called "flower pocket".  Stamped the inside of the boxes and covered them using  Pink Paislees clear set stamp  collection called "butterfly garden, 2011.  Filled with tea packets and box of mints or  tea packets and beautiful packaged soap. I love the way they came out.  A perfect Mother's Day gift or for any other occasion.

A2 size card  Background pattern paper from Adornit  company called "blender basic".  Star sequin, a graduation cap sticker and a hand cut banner.   Sentiment is from a stamp set by Penny Black called "gratitude" , one of my go to sets. A2 size card Pattern paper by Basic Grey from their "Oxford" collection, printed 2011.  Using the same "congratulations" sentiments and star sequins.  Dark blue card-stock was use for the card base.  Card-stock was purchased from the Paper Source store. These were very easy cards and I all of the supplies mentioned I have had for a long while.  It is good to use up what I have.

Scrappy Quilting

Image
Little by little I have been trying to use up my left over scraps.  Looking at Pinterest for some ideas on how to proceed with a scrappy quilt.  With so many wonderful ideas, I decided to  sew up my scraps lager enough to cut out a 5 inch squares, using an acrylic ruler. I had left over blocks from prior projects that made sewing up this quilt faster. Using my walking foot to do simple straight lines. I really love the way this mini quilt turned out.  I think this is a great way to use up left over blocks and scraps. This was another quilt using 4 inch blocks and yes using scraps.

I Love My Cat Stamped Cards

Image
Playing with a very old stamp set by Hero Arts.  I think it may have been one of my very first set of stamps, 15+ years ago.  I used water color paper and my water brushed markers by Marvy and Tombow.  I used some water to pull in the color to give a water color look to some of the cards. I also used other colored makers to color in some of the cat images yellow.  I used embossing folders and some heat embossing also.  These were boxed up and given to my favorite Veterinarian.

Card Challenge and Some Valentines Day Projects

Image
Three cards that I submitted for the  Take Ten Card challenge.  Following the example layout that was in the latest magazine. I used some left over scraps of pattern paper, miscellaneous stamps, ribbon, sequins, die cut pieces and stickers.  It was fun to rummage through my stash of supplies and find new ways to use them.  I really love making card using simple embellishments and very little stamping.  Let the papers to all the work. That was a beautiful paper pad by DCWV and I am happy to say that I used every bit it too.  Now I will be on the lookout for another beautiful paper pad. ❤️

Girly Cards using Lasting Impressions Paper Pad

Image
Here are some girly looking cards using a very old 6" x 6" paper pad by Lasting Impressions called "Just The Girls".  Wink of Stella shimmer pen was used to the center of the flowers.  After  I added clear Nuvo drops to give some dimensional look to the centers of the flowers.  I added some hand drawn lines around the sentiment stamp.  It gives a new look to my stamp. A layer of vellum gives a nice base to add some embellishments that would have been lost on a  busy pattern paper.  The paper pad had a couple of sheet with sweet cut outs.   Using leftover strip for these last two cards.  This collection would make great Mother's Day cards too.

Brushed Blooms Stamp Set

Image
A couple more cards using Papertrey Inks, " Brushed Blooms stamps set ".  I used inks from Hero Arts (Passion Flower, Fresh Lawn), My Favorite Things (Banana Split) and Memento (Grape Jelly, Cottage Ivy).  Embossing folders from Sizzix (small dots) and We R Memory Keepers (larger dots). I used BAZZILL card stock in colors "Jelly Bean" and "Gummy Bear".  The label die cut used on the top card is a new die from Spellbinders called "Venise Lace" from their Designer Series.  Sentiment from Hero Arts. I hope to do more cards using this set real soon.

Little Boy Cards Using AUTHENTIQUE papers

Image
Cards using some very adorable pattern papers by Authentique called, "Cuddle Boy" They had a pink version for girls too. I purchased these 12 x 12 inch sheets of paper from my local scrapbook store about a year ago to make a couple of baby shower cards.  After that, I just put the left over sheets in my stash until now.  I do not have a reason to make any shower or baby boy cards, but I was looking through my papers and came across them and I just started to play with them. A few of the supplies I used: rectangle nested die set to cut out some panels, tag dies, paper trimmer, circle dies to fussy cut some of the horse images, sentiment stamps and finally used some NUVO drops .  New to me but I really like this product.  You can make perfect enamel dots in any size you what.  I think I will be buying a few other colors soon.
