Mariposa cards

The inspiration came from my winged little friends that visited my garden this year.

The sentiments were heat embossed in gold embossing powder by Ranger.  Pattern paper by DCWV called Mariposa (a very old paper collection). The card on the left,  I used a Hero Arts butterfly and a Penny Black sentiment.  The "Thank-You" stamp is a Papertrey Ink that was stamped on vellum paper and heat embossed in gold. I used a few die cut shapes to cut out my panels.

Scrappy Quilting

 Little by little I have been trying to use up my left over scraps.  Looking at Pinterest for some ideas on how to proceed with a scrappy quilt.  With so many wonderful ideas, I decided to  sew up my scraps lager enough to cut out a 5 inch squares, using an acrylic ruler. I had left over blocks from prior projects that made sewing up this quilt faster. Using my walking foot to do simple straight lines. I really love the way this mini quilt turned out.  I think this is a great way to use up left over blocks and scraps. This was another quilt using 4 inch blocks and yes using scraps.

Garden Cards To Share

 It has been a very long while since I have posted any new cards.  But I have been busy doing much needed re-organization in my craft closet.  By doing that, I reintroduced myself to some good old papers, stamps, dies, embellishments and ephemera.  So I hope these may inspire you to make  some paper projects using some of your older supplies.
